USA (JUN 2011) - www.chiefmfg.com - Chief, the industry leader in professional AV solutions, announces that its lineup of automated projector lifts has received UL and TUV compliance, important designations recognizing product safety and compatibility. With these designations, Chief can now add a CE mark to these products.

The lineup includes three models: SL151, SL220 and SL236. The SL151 is designed to fit perfectly inside a standard 2’x2’ (600mm x 600mm) suspended ceiling grid. The SL236 is used when extra extension is needed, as it provides up to 36” (91 cm) travel. The SL220 is recognized for ease of install, snapping inside a 2'x2’ ceiling grid, and its ability to be mounted in a fraction of the time of conventional projector lifts.

All three automated projector lifts provide exceptionally smooth and quiet movement. Featuring high-quality materials and design, they are ideal solutions for finished ceilings in homes and corporate offices.

With the compliance certification of the SL220, all models in the series have now received the following designations:

 

• UL – Verifies that a product is physically and environmentally safe for public use, as determined by the Underwriters Laboratories.
• TUV – Validates the safety of products to protect humans and the environment against hazards.
• CE – Is the manufacturer’s promise that a product is in conformity with European Union legislation and can be sold in the European Economic Area.

The newest in the series, the SL220 projector lift makes installation up 10 times faster than conventional ceiling lifts. Made of lightweight aircraft-grade aluminum, the SL220 requires a single technician to install, with the process consisting of three simple steps. It ships completely assembled from the factory.

More than just an easy install, the SL220 outperforms conventional projector lifts in its category and offers multiple control options, including push-button operation, a low-voltage controller and an infrared remote control. The SL220 is compatible with a wide range of Chief custom and universal projector mounts, allowing users to customize the unit to their specific needs.

In February the SL220 was honored with a 2011 InAVation Award, recognition given to the most innovative products in the audiovisual industry. It was selected as one of five finalists by a panel of jurors representing the InAVation Awards and was voted as the top product in the category by peers within the field.
